Speakers Corner: The LF Forum > Cast of X-Men: First Class

iFanboy have posted a list of the cast of X-men first class so far:

x-men first class

Hmm... not sure. some of them sure do look like their comic character potraits, but, James Macavoy as Xavier? surely michael Rosenbaum would be a better choice (in terms of looks) or perhaps he's to associated with Lex Luthor?

Nicholas Hoult?? Wow - good for him!

It will be odd to see Prof X and Magneto played/portrayed so young.......could be interesting- I am quite excited about this project (I still rate X2 as one of the top super hero films of recent times)

can we all agree X-Men 3 was one of the worst super hero movies of all time?

July 22, 2010 | Registered CommenterI M S

It wasn't that bad. It just left a few threads hanging

you clearly haven't seen 'Luther for President'. Admittedly that is a fan film, but its pretty bas - even for a fan film

I dont think there's been a really good xmen film.

Xmen 2 wasn't bad.

Vinnie Jones as Juggernaught has to be one of the worst pieces of Superhero casting ever.

I thought the first 2 X-Men films were pretty good. My only real complaint was Cyclops being portrayed as Wolverine's whipping boy. Cyclops, even after all these years, is still the defacto field leader of the X-teams. You know, when there are those big cross-overs and team-ups, its Cyke standing with Mr Fantastic and Captain America making the decisions Singer you twat!

Show some respect for the one-eyed guy for christs sake.

And, to top it all off, they kill him off off-screen in the 3rd film. Nice one.

Not too sure about X-Men: First Class. I see Singer is already messing with whats cannon and his own take on the team. While I'm not enough of an asshole to demand they stick to the comics continuity I think both the Iron Man films prove you can be inventive with these established characters and still remain true to the source material.

Its not Singer directing you idiot, its Vaughn.

don't be so hard on yourself glum, lol

Glum, you're totally right about your X3 observations, and the mistreatment of Cyclops. Did Marsden leave to film Superman instead? I thought it was weird that he played second fiddle to Wolverine for 2 films, then left to play second fiddle to Superman.

Yeah man, cyclops was done over- X3 should have been his film. If not for him to be the main character- he should have had more of the drama on him- and at least be shown as equal to Wolverine, in importance if not popularity.
As for canon- well thats already all fooked up with the x-films and wolverine (got some issues with that particular film)

Only just found this and need to reply regarding Cyclops being Wolverine's whipping boy. Have you all read the New X-men stuff when the new team was formed? Cyclops was treated with utter disdain and contempt by Wolverine, I think they got that pretty spot on.

Regarding the films;

1 is great, 2 is in my top 3 opening sequences ever along with Star Wars IV (A New Hope) and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, I have erased the 3rd from memory

X2 does have an ace opening sequence, I just thought the whole film had a nice balance of everything a super hero movie needs. 3 was poo, but their are much worse offenders on comic book film- FF and Elektra anyone?

I thought Spiderman 3 was worse than Xmen 3 - it's a shame we've not had a good Punisher or Judge Dredd movie also.

Did you know they are remaking Robocop and Total Recall and other Paul Verhoeven movies i think!!!
