Speakers Corner: The LF Forum > Ed Norton not to return as Hulk in Avengers

Thought that was a shame. I can't be the only one that enjoyed his Hulk movie??

Also for continuity purposes, it would have been cool to have brought in all the relevant actors from the buildup to the movie.

I really like *both* hulk movies. Although I might be the only one.

Marvel seem to have no interest in continuity right now, although they say they do. Can't believe they are rebooting spiderman!

At least with the hulk you can justify the change in actor as being something to do with the gamma transformation.

I think the problem they face is that in the comic books the characters are ageless, but in real life, when you choose a 20-something to play a role, you've really only got about 10 years space in which you can keep him/her looking the same. perhaps less. if the story of a character progresses through time over a series of films - Harry Potter for instance - then it's no problem. but in the case of Peter Parker for instance...

Yeah, even in the comics the passage of time for characters is contentious, especially for Peter Parker- hence the JMS fall out scandal with Marvel for trying to reboot/restart and forget that he amrried MJ, was now a teacher etc.

I preferred the Ed Norton Hulk- I didnt hate the Eric Banaone but his Dad being the baddy was lame- whereas in this I liked the sneak peek at what the super soldier serum can do- and how it may look on screen for Capatain America.

The Bana Hulk wasn't too bad - I think it caught more flack than what was warranted, but as mentioned above, I really didn't get why they went with a 'daddy' angle at all.

I think the danger with Hulk movies is I'd like to see something that didn't just revolve around him being chased, and although I'm really looking forward to Avengers, ultimately that's what that movie is going to be.

The avengers Movie could suffer from too many stars...

Avengers is gonna be awesome. I agree though, its a shame that not all the actors in the buildup will be included. Wouldnt be surprised if more fall off before the Avengers film goes into production. Well probably end up with a new Thor and/or captain America.
